Residence and Startup Incubating platform for young people.

The project was initiated by Seoul metropolitan council as part of their efforts to utilise many unused or underused lands owned by the city. A long-triangle shaped site next to an overpass was suggested in northern part of Seoul. The ratio of floating population of young people in the area is high as there are universities nearby, easily accessible public transport and many commercial amenities loved by young generation in the area.

The project brief required to retain existing single storey water purification plant on site and create a platform mainly for young people, including residential units, startup offices and related support facilities together. The key idea of organising complex functions into one building was ‘co-living, co-working’ and ‘sharing’ rather than ‘owning’, trying to maximise the potential and the synergy from the underused site.
